PRODUCTIVITY TOOLS
-
MapWindow GIS - Open Source Software Desktop GIS Software
- Global Image uses MapWindow GIS extensively during our Practical GIS Workshops, to demontrate GIS Concepts.
The MapWindow application is a free, extensible, geographic information system (GIS) that can be used in many ways:
* As an alternative desktop GIS;
* To distribute data to others;
* To develop and distribute custom spatial data analyses.
- Download Registered Property diagrams with co-ordinates from the South African Surveyor General's Office
- Google Analytics
- PostGIS - PostGIS adds support for geographic objects
to the PostgreSQL object-relational database. In effect, PostGIS "spatially enables" the PostgreSQL server,
allowing it to be used as a backend spatial database for geographic information systems (GIS), much like ESRI's
SDE or Oracle's Spatial extension.
